About Ian Tilghman

Known to friends (and anyone interacted with via social media) as "THE STREET SNAKE", Ian Challenger Tilghman is a photographer, designer, film-maker, and multimedia artist based in Los Angeles, CA.

A graduate of UNC Wilmington, where he studied Environmental Science and Film, Ian has worked in a multitude of creative professions. Recently his fashion, portrait, and lifestyle photography has taken the front-seat, but he has worked as a graphic and branding designer, videographer, editor, film tech, model, actor, dj, bar-man, equipment-hauler, and occasional Winston Wolfe-esque problem solver.

The ironic nickname 'Street Snake' was derived from his skateboarding background on the East Coast. His early life was as a competitive surfer. And he can’t stop. His upbringing and passion for the arts and intellectual pursuits has doomed him with the endless search for more. This is perhaps why he has his hands in so much, and a permanent urge to travel and be challenged.

Ian is obsessed with seafood, quality cocktails, & a wide range of films from America's Golden Age to the campiest of 80's horror. His greatest photographic inspirations currently are Txema Yeste, Slim Aarons, Cameron Hammond, Herb Ritts, & Art Brewer.
